MY STORY

A Mental Health Professional Here to Guide You

I have had the fortune and opportunity to have lived across the United States and abroad as first a school teacher and now a therapist. I believe this exposure bestowed on me a vast practical knowledge and has impressed upon me the role that culture and lived experiences play in the shaping of one’s perspective.

I am a registered yoga teacher as well as counselor and I find beauty in the linking of the two fields. Yoga is the union between the individual and a higher sense of Self or consciousness, beginning with the union of mind, body and breath. This is achieved through meditation, breathing exercises, and movement. In counseling, we look, in many cases, to re-establish the connection to the inner being, or intuition, which is often forgotten or silenced in our world of distractions. Much wisdom can be gained from this re-attunement, and, as in the case of yoga, guided meditation, breath work, and movement can help achieve the union.

Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a professional therapist can make things better.  I am committed to equipping my clients with the tools necessary to reclaim their individual voice, let go of past hurts, and make meaningful changes to get the life they want. Each client's goals are unique and deserve a therapeutic approach tailored specifically to their strengths and needs.

Client's are encouraged to engage in mindfulness and self-care in order to promote balance emotionally, physically, socially, spiritually and professionally. I actively engage clients in the therapeutic process to challenge their negative thought processes and to replace with a more healthy, rational, positive way of thinking
